Healthy Diet Recommendations

from:

A healthy diet is important for every individual to consider. The American Heart Association has tips and guidelines for individuals looking for a simple and healthy diet.

They recommend that an individual burn as many calories as an individual takes in. Each individual should start by knowing how many calories they need per day, and do not eat more calories than an individual can use up. Set a goal to do moderate physical activity for thirty minutes each day this will help maintain a healthy weight. If thirty minutes at a time is impossible, do it in ten minute sets.

They recommend that an individual should eat a variety of foods from all the food groups. Eating foods from all food groups is what makes a balanced healthy diet. Choosing foods like fruits and vegetables, whole grains, low fat or fat free dairy products, and eating fish twice a week will help create a balanced diet.

They recommend that an individuals should eat less of the unhealthy foods. Individuals should read the label of food products and choose items that are low in saturated fat, trans fat, cholesterol, and sodium. These foods will be part of a healthy diet.

For individuals looking to lose weight, they offer a No-Fad Diet to help shed unwanted pounds. This is a healthy diet teaching individuals to think smart, eat well, and move more. These three teachings are called the Circles of Success. Following these three teachings, and by creating a personalized plan of attack, individuals can achieve their weight loss goals. It will take time, but if an individual keeps working on it they will achieve it.

Delicious Decisions is a recipe search to help individuals find healthy diet recipes that taste great. They also offer diet and nutrition advice to help individuals stay on track to be healthy. Grocery shopping is easy because every item that is heart healthy is label with a heart for easy finding.

These are the dietary recommendations for any individual looking for a healthy diet
• Choose lean meats and poultry without the skin
• Select fat free, one percent fat, or low fat dairy products
• Cut back on foods containing partially hydrogenated oils
• Cut back on foods high in cholesterol
